SANDRA STUBENHAUS

Obituary of SANDRA R STUBENHAUS

Please share a memory of SANDRA to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sandy passed the morning of September 22nd, in her home, surrounded by her family. Sandy grew up in Old Bridge, NJ with parents Sid and Helen and brother Richie. Sandy was active in many social activities and youth groups. While at Camp Ramah in her youth Sandy met Michael. They married and had two beautiful daughters, Elaine and Sharon. Living in their home in Hamilton they raised their girls. Their home was always filled with love, laughter, hugs and of course coffee! After over 30 years Michael and Sandy divorced. Michael married Deb and Sandy met Jimmy. They were both happy in their own lives but always kept in contact. Having grown up together, raising a family together and over 30 years of life and love the bond between Michael and Sandy remained. Michael was there with Sandy in her last few days, and as all of us, supported Sandy and the family in this transition. Elaine went on to marry John and have two daughters, Haleigh and Cora. Sharon met Bill and they have a son, Gabriel. To Sandy, family was everything. Her children and grandchildren graced her home frequently. As did her friends and extended family. Sandy took great pleasure in her regular calls and chats with her brother, Richie and his wife Ellen and their children as well as with cousins Mike, Phil, and Joan. Sandy took great pleasure in spending time with friends. From concerts to vacations to cheap dates in the park with PB & J when young and raising a family on tight funds, she took great pleasure in spending time with friends who became extended family. Sandy spent almost 35 years with her friend Jill, her sister of the heart, raising their children, living and loving through loss, birth, joy and sorrow. There is not enough room or time to sum up all that was Sandy. She was love and laughs and joy and beauty. She loved unconditionally and always had a soft spot for everyone. Sandy is survived by her daughter, Elaine Benjamin(husband John) of Trenton NJ, Sharon Stubenhaus (partner William Shoener) of Hamilton, NJ brother Dr Richard Gertler (wife Ellen) formerly of Teaneck now residing in Israel, Michael Stubenhaus (wife Deb) of Onacock, Va, Jill Sheeley (husband Dan) of Princeton Jct, NJ. She is also survived by her fur baby T-Bucket who never left her side and her fur baby Lacey who was in and out constantly. Sandy is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, too multiple to name, all whose lives she has touched and left her fingerprint. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Penn Medicine Hospice https://giving.apps.upenn.edu/fund?program=MC&fund=843419&appeal=PMWEB, The Jewish National Fund https://secure.jnf.org, The Brain Aneurysm Foundation https://secure.jnf.org or any organization you feel worthwhile.
