Obituary of MAXINE COHEN

Maxine Cohen

November 14, 1951 – March 30, 2022

Maxine (Madd Maxx) Cohen of Piscataway passed away on Wednesday, March 30th at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at the age of 70, after a long battle with illness.

Maxine was born in Manhattan, NY, to Helen (nee Silber) and Philip Cohen.  She was the youngest of three daughters, with Greta being the oldest and her twin sister, Myra, being born just 20 minutes before her.

Maxine was a natural baker and loved making homemade cakes in the shapes of animals for her three daughters, Michelle, Samantha, and Rebecca on their birthdays.  She used to make one heck of a NY Cheesecake.  She loved shopping with her twin sister and buying gifts for people, especially her daughters and grandchildren.  She loved all dogs, watching scary movies and, most of all, her family.

Maxine is survived by her twin sister Myra Zihal and her husband Michael; three daughters, Michelle and her husband Brian, Samantha, and Rebecca; and her cherished grandchildren, Hayley, Jaryd, Donovan, and Jeremiah.  She is also survived by three nieces and many other loving extended family members and friends.  She was predeceased by both of her parents and her older sister, Greta, in 2020.
